About Store Host / Proprietor, Alixe Rheeve
Alixe grew up in a family of collectors. They lived in a variety of interesting homes including one that had once served as a funeral home, a stately Queen Anne Victorian with crystal chandeliers and ornate carved woodwork, and a 30-acre hobby farm that served multiple random animal residents.
A considerable number of family weekends involved perusing antique stores and, later, attending Wisconsin farm auctions. These visits served to fill up their homes and outbuildings with lots of fun stuff.
Alixe's background and interests are varied and creative: After graduating with a photography degree, Alixe and her family moved from Wisconsin to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a real estate broker for several years. Alixe has a great love of music: She has, along with her husband, Jason, performed with their band, Shirley Green, and worked on a solo songwriting/recording project.
Alixe and Jason live with Church (the refined cat), Fitz (the klutzy farm cat) and rescued golden retriever, Bea (the angel dog). Their daughter, Ava, and son-in-law, João, currently live in Boston.
As Store Host, Alixe is excited to support the local community and bring unique and quality finds - along with her creativity and energy - to Furnish Traders.
